Who Ain’t Misbehaving?!

The must see Geva Theatre production Ain’t Misbehavin’ The Fats Waller Musical Show is absolutely incredible. There is something for everyone!

It does not matter if you love theater, live music, jazz, choreography, comedy, art, love, and history you will find something in it for you. Ain’t Misbehavin’ includes a collection of Fats Waller most celebrated music.

His songs come to life with the entire cast! I don’t know how they did it but their energy is next level and consistent throughout the show! So much so, I had to go get a drink during intermission.

Let’s talk cast. Miya Bass ,whom we had the honor of meeting on the Wake Up Club is beautifully AMAZING!! Her voice just wraps around you and warms your soul like a soulful hug. You feel her energy and passion through her voice. Jay Copeland whew!! Pure talent!! The refer song was my favorite hahaha… But for real, Jay is phenomenal and I loved, looooved his performance.

Paris Bennet is so spectacular and funny! I didn’t expect her voice to be so powerful and soul moving. Judith Franklin embodies that old/new soul-filled sound like Billie Holiday dipped in Jazmine Sullivan. And Will Stone who gave me complete Luther Vandross vibes when he sang my goodness I experienced bliss!!

Then you had the live jazz band was a beautiful surprise and they kept it funky!!

I have been attending Geva Theatre for several years and I have NEVER seen an entire audience leave there with smiles and in absolute awe with what they just experienced. That is how good this production is so go see for yourself!!!

Good job Geva Theatre!

To the cast, THANK YOU for sharing your gifts and talents with us and for an experience we will never forget!!
