RCSD Successful Operation: FIRE

Written by on December 11, 2021

Since the spike in violence in the Rochester City School District, a new group of volunteers has set out to help bring positive change to students and staff at Franklin and Edison Tech campuses. Operation FIRE, Fathers Initiating Restorative Engagement, is part of a national movement to combat violence within our community.

Willie Robinson, volunteer and family, and community engagement manager for ROC the Future stated: “From a parent perspective, the way I view it is, kids are the same. It’s just the experiences they’ve lived. Oftentimes, if they don’t have a lot of love that’s happening at their home, or in the building, that’s what we are trying to do is love on the kids and let them know we care.”
