RCSD Honors Black Excellence

In observance of Black History Month, nearly two dozen young black scholars in the Rochester City School District received high honors on Thursday night.
The students were awarded for achievements in academic excellence, earning a minimum 4.0 cumulative GPA, and in community service. The ceremony also featured displays of student artwork as well as student performances.
This is truly a breath of fresh air, there’s been so much negativity surrounding the image of our black youth lately. It’s encouraging to see the community coming together to recognize not only positive strides in education, but similar strides in the arts as well.
