Raye Wins Songwriter of the Year at Ivor Novello Awards 2024

At the 2024 Ivor Novello Awards in London, Raye was honored as Songwriter of the Year, a testament to her remarkable achievements in music. Raye’s debut album, “My 21st Century Blues,” played a pivotal role in propelling her solo career to new heights. The awards, which celebrated 26 songwriters and composers across 14 categories, also saw Bruce Springsteen receive a fellowship of the songwriting academy, presented by Paul McCartney.
Other notable winners included Lana Del Rey, who was celebrated for her influence in music, and Yussef Dayes, Rocco Palladino, and Charlie Stacey, who won Best Album for “Black Classical Music.” Victoria Canal won Best Song Musically and Lyrically for “Black Swan,” and Dave, Central Cee, Jo Caleb, and Jonny Leslie took home the PRS for Music Most Performed Work for “Sprinter.” Bernie Taupin was recognized for his outstanding contribution to British music, while KT Tunstall received an award for her outstanding song collection.
Earlier this year, Raye made history as the first artist to take home 6 trophies at the 2024 Brit Awards.
