According to the pair, who tied the knot back in 2020, their fairytale wasn’t always as seamless as it looked on social media. During Monday’s episode of ‘Wide Open with Ashlyn Harris,’ Miranda Maday revealed that Raven once actually “broke up with her” — and the reason left fans clutching their pearls. Around the 29-minute mark of their interview, Miranda explained that Raven had warned her their relationship “might be difficult,” and later admitted the split stemmed from her own discomfort about “being with a white partner.” Additionally, Miranda said she had “no idea” Raven was struggling internally until long after, which left her feeling helpless: “There’s nothing I can do about my whiteness. I could have […] supported her better.”

Miranda Addresses Haters Who Swear She’s A Gold Digger

Miranda also unpacked the hate she receives simply for being married to Raven. She says the internet has labeled her everything from Raven’s “handler” to a “gold digger” to someone who tries to “whitewash” the actress. The comments, she admitted, can be overwhelming. Especially when, in reality, the two are just trying to build, grow, and create content together. “I mean, the s**t that I see and hear is overwhelming. And it’s kind of a shame because the truth of what’s happening is we’re a couple that’s trying to like grow, thrive, create content that people may resonate with, might be entertained by. I’m also trying to—yeah, of course—step into my own strengths, find my voice more clearly in my work field. There are personal goals and growth that I’m also trying to achieve that everyone is entitled to. So, I’ve tried to honestly let all of it go, Ashlyn, because the noise shouldn’t impact me one way or another, whether it’s positive or negative,” Miranda shared.
