Raven Goodwin, Will Play Hattie McDaniel In “Behind the Smile”

The Clark Sisters: First Ladies of Gospel star Raven Goodwin, will play Hattie McDaniel. McDaniel was the First Black Person to ever win an Oscar. The film entitled “Behind the Smile” will be a biopic produced by Jami McCoy-Lankford, with the script written by Gregory Blair.
Raven Goodwin, 28, has been acting since the age of 9, told Deadline “Hattie YOU did it.” “Because of your legacy, we are able to write and portray OURSELVES in whatever light we choose.
