If you have any plans to travel to Buffalo, don’t forget to bring your mask. Starting today, Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz has reinstated a mask mandate for all indoor public locations in the county. This is in hopes to combat the spread of COVID-19 since rates continue to rise in WNY and hospital capacity hit 91 percent. Poloncarz took to Twitter to share the latest COVID-19 data summary:
These are the latest COVID-19 case data summary results, as of 11/21/21. Erie County is four times above the CDC's determined rate of "high transmission." pic.twitter.com/QvPcWkzwhQ

New York Governor Kathy Hochul also commented on Poloncraz decision to reinstate the mask mandate by tweeting:
I commend Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz for taking strong actions today to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Western New York. This is an example of the leadership we need to see at the local level to combat this deadly virus.
