Quincy Hall secured the gold medal in the men’s 400-meter final at the 2024 Summer Olympics, held at Stade de France, marking a significant victory for the U.S. in an event they had not won since 2008. Despite a slow start, Hall surged ahead to overtake Great Britain’s Matthew Hudson-Smith at the finish line, clocking a personal best of 43.4 seconds, the fifth-fastest time in the event’s history. Celebrating with an American flag, Hall’s victory reestablished U.S. dominance in the 400-meter race, a title held consistently from 1984 to 2008. Hudson-Smith took silver, and Zambia’s Muzala Samukonga won bronze.
