Procter & Gamble Recalled Cancer Causing Chemical Products

Procter & Gamble recalled various dry shampoo and conditioner products due to a chemical that can cause cancer. The chemical benzene was found in products from Aussie, Herbel Essence, Pantene, and waterless products made in the U.S. The recall covers nearly three dozen products that were found to have increased and “Unexpected” levels of the carcinogen benzene. Benzene can lead to some life-threatening blood disorders. It has been linked to some cancers, including leukemia and blood cancer of the bone marrow. Dry shampoo products from Hair Food and Old Spice were also previously discontinued. The recalled products were distributed nationwide.
