Prayers Go Out to Dancehall Legend, Beenie Man

Over the weekend, crowds from around the world gathered to Toronto, CA for Caribana and OVO Fest. Its possibly the most fun weekend ever! If you’ve never been, I recommend you start planning now for next year!
This year for OVO Fest the lineup featured Snoop Dogg, Wiz Kahlifa, Kevin Gates, Jhene Aiko, Future, Machel Montano, and Beenie Man. However, fans were disheartened to find out that Beenie Man would unfortunately, not be making an appearance this year at the festival because he was denied a visa by the Canadian government. Why? As it turns out, the dancehall legend recently contracted Zika!
The World Health Organization states that the Zika virus is usually mild and people that carry the virus only experience symptoms for a few weeks. There is no vaccine, however.
Beenie Man posted a picture to his Instagram yesterday, explaining to his fans the situation:
News of Beenie Man’s case comes at the same time as Floirda governor announces emergency response to Zika outbreak. Just today 10 new cases of the virus have been reported in Miami. There’s a slim chance of Zika reaching us upstate, but it never hurts too keep the Off! spray handy.
