“Pop, Lock & Drop It” Rapper Shot and Killed in St. Louis [VIDEO]

Saint Louis rapper Huey was shot and killed Thursday night in his hometown. He was 31 years old.

The shooting happened just before 11:00 p.m. in front of a home on Martin Luther King Boulevard in Kinloch Missouri. According to police, Huey, whose real name is Lawrence Franks, arrived at a local hospital suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.

No arrests have been made. Police say say a 21-year-old man was also injured in the shooting.

According to his Instagram page, Huey was going to host a pool party / video shoot for “Lap Dance” this Saturday at his home.

Huey is best known for his 2006 hit single “Pop Lock & Drop It” which peaked at number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart after being discovered by TJ Chapman.
