Police Chiefs Hold Town Meetings To Connect With Community

Written by on July 3, 2020

Police Chiefs from Rochester, Irondequoit, Brighton, Gates and Greece have been holding meetings with community members for the past couple of nights to connect with the community and open a dialogue about law enforcement and how it effects the citizens of Rochester.

Topics included community policing, excessive force, current events, policy and procedures.

Rochester Police Chief La’Ron Singletary is quoted, saying:

“As a police chief, I’m always looking for individuals who want to bridge that gap and as you know police have an issue across the country and so right now what we’re trying to do is look at ways. Tonight we’re going to have a dialogue.”

Town hall meetings like these ones are expected to be held more often in the future, along with ones with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
