OlaRose Ndubuisi, a senior at Pittsford Mendon High School, is gaining national recognition for her work in race relations and medical advocacy as she prepares for college. Recently awarded the 2025 Princeton Prize in Race Relations, she also serves as New York State’s Youth Poet Laureate for 2024–2025 and president of her school’s Black Student Union. OlaRose, who has scoliosis, previously earned praise for supporting youth with the condition through artistic expression and free health screenings in the U.S. and Nigeria. Through school initiatives, poetry, and community outreach, she empowers students to embrace identity and find healing through creativity. Her growing list of accolades, she says, validates her belief that personal challenges can be transformed into powerful, inclusive action.
