Phase 4 Re Opening Includes Zoos

Written by on June 28, 2020

The Seneca Park Zoo has been closed for the past 4 months due to the coronavirus pandemic. Now that New York has entered phase 4 or re opening, the zoo was able to open its doors to members on Friday and Saturday.

The amount of people allowed inside has been reduced and officials are requesting that tickets be purchased online. There is also a mask requirement for families, except for children 2 and younger and those with a medical condition.

To maximize safety, some of the exhibits have been closed and there are designated paths on the ground so visitors can easily find the open ones.

Monroe County Executive Adam Bello welcomed members back, saying:

“I’ll say this is a really exciting day. I think for the community, something we have been looking forward to for a long time. As a parent of two small kids myself, I know our family has been waiting to get back to some sense of normalcy.”
