Oregon Removes American Flags from Overpasses

Driving in Oregon anytime soon? Well, if for some reason you find yourself looking for American flags in the overpasses, they have been removed. According to the Oregon Department of Transportation, the American flags that have been popping up on multiple overpasses from Cottage Grove to Woodburn, have been removed due to safety concerns.
ODOT’s Angela Beers-Seydel stated; “The mission of the Oregon Department of Transportation is to create a safe multi-mode of the transportation system for all of our system users. And that means we have to maintain a safe environment. We can’t have things hanging over or off of a freeway overpass. When you attach it to an overpass we need to remove it because it’s a distraction for drivers.”
