Nonstop service from Rochester to Las Vegas begins

Nonstop flights from Rochester to Las Vegas have officially begun, provided by Southwest Airlines. This new service, starting on October 3, 2024, marks the first time since 2008 that travelers from Rochester can fly directly to Las Vegas. The flights depart from Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport and arrive at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas. Initially, the service will run four times a week—on Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays—and will later expand to six days per week. Early demand has been strong, with the first four flights already sold out. This route adds over 5,900 seats weekly to the Rochester flight schedule. Other nonstop routes from Rochester include Baltimore, Orlando, and Tampa.
