No Swimming At Ontario Beach Park Due To E. coli Concerns

Written by on July 26, 2021

Before you head out to the beach to enjoy this great summer weather you need to know there will be no swimming. Due to E. coli, the beach will not be open for swimmers.

Because of the rain we recently had and the sediment in the water flowing through the Genesee River there is a concern for E. coli. The Monroe County Parks Department says these conditions are a good environment for the bacteria to grow. Officials will keep track of the Genesee River flow rates and let the public know when it is safe.

You can call (585) 753-5887 for the swimming status updates of Durand Eastman Beach and Ontario Beach.
