Due to various safety concerns, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued recalls for certain Nissan, Hyundai, and Kia vehicles. Nissan is recalling 57,914 Leaf vehicles from the 2018 to 2022 model years because of a malfunctioning rearview camera that fails to display an image, potentially increasing the risk of accidents. Nissan customer service can be reached at 1-800-867-7669.
Hyundai is recalling 1,165 vehicles, including the 2023 Genesis GV60, Hyundai IONIQ 5, and IONIQ 6, due to improperly heat-treated rear inner driveshafts that may break, leading to a loss of drive power. Hyundai customer service can be reached at 1-855-371-9460. The numbers for this recall are 253(H) and 017G(G).
Kia is recalling 2,872 of the 2024 Telluride models because of engine valve springs that may break while driving, posing a risk of engine damage and potential fire hazards. Kia customer service can be reached at 1-800-333-4542. Kia’s number for this recall is SC296.
The respective dealers will conduct repairs for free, with notification letters to be sent to owners detailing the recall and repair process. Vehicle owners can contact customer service for more information or check the NHTSA database using their vehicle identification number (VIN) to see if their vehicle is affected.
