“I’m Free” is an inspirational ballad written and performed by 17 year old Isaiah Santiago Lewis of Rochester, NY.

The song is about making it through life’s hardest situations and breaking free from your past.

Santiago is the creator of a local organization called We Got This Roc, which is aimed at stopping youth gun violence and providing access to skill-centered programs such as photography and music.

He tells Andria of WDKX’s Couch Talks Series that he was motivated to stop by the violence after the death of Northeast College Prep Graduate Lysaun Curry.

Curry was just 18-years-old when he was gunned down in October 2, 2020 on Treanaman Street in Rochester while walking home from his construction job.
