Yesterday, New York State Governor Kathy Hochul shared in a press conference that the state is seeing an uprise in new COVID-19 cases as the omicron variant continues to cause a surge in cases. According to Governor Hochul, on Tuesday the state had 67,000 new cases, which has broken the record for the highest number of new cases in a single day in the state.
Governor Hochul stated: “That is not the direction we want to go. It is heartbreaking to know that there are families that will not see the end of the year with their loved ones, and we keep them in our prayers…We do think there’s going to be a spike in cases that are going to continue, not just in our positivity rates, but in our hospitalizations.”
