New York Moves Toward Ending Regents Exams

New York is moving toward a competency-based diploma system that could eventually replace Regents exams.

Instead of relying on traditional tests, students would demonstrate skills through projects, career-focused learning and other assessments. 

The transition is expected to take place over the next three to five years.
