New York Internet Crimes Are One Of The Highest In The Country

New York State is one of the most targeted states when it comes to Internet crimes according to a 2019 report from the FBI.
Reports say across the country the FBI has responded to more than 1,300 cases of Internet fraud on a daily basis last year.
According to the report the FBI has recovered over $300 million dollars from scammers and that’s only from the crimes that were reported.
Out of that money people in New York State were scammed out of $200 million dollars.
Other states the had a high number in victims being scammed were in California, Florida, and Texas.
A lot of these Internet thieves are able to gain access to people’s information from emails, and social media and people who are not internet savvy. The FBI is also warning to not give out your information over the phone.
