New York Ethics Panel Wants Former Governor Andrew Cuomo to Pay $5 Million from Book Deal

Written by on December 15, 2021

Back when former Governor Andrew Cuomo pitched his memoir, he promised it would have nothing to do with the ins and outs of his role as the state’s leader. In addition to this promise, Cuomo also pledged to write it on his own time and without tapping into any of the state’s vast resources. However, the New York ethics panel sees a different story from Cuomo, and, the commission voted overwhelmingly to require Cuomo to turn over proceeds from the memoir. The 2020 book titled, American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic, is reported to be worth more than $5 million.
