New Program To Help City Tenants Living Conditions
Written by DJ Sight on February 27, 2020
The city of Rochester has a new program to help tenants when their landlords fails to correct and fix problems on their property.
This new program is called the Emergency Abatement. The fund will be used to repair the problems on a rental property, once the issues are fixed the landlord will receive a bill for the cost if they fail to make the payment then the cost will be added on their property tax bill.
Now there will be $200,000 available for this fund.
We all heard about issues in the past with slumlords leaving their tenants to live in disgusting conditions and a lot of people are not in position to just up and leave and those slumlords understand that. So it’s great to see the City Of Rochester step in and give a helping hand.
