New Program To Boost Credit For Rochester City Renters

The City of Rochester is launching a new program aimed to help renters with their credit. Mayor Malik Evans announced the initiative Monday, which is a positive-only reporting method to help renters establish or improve their credit scores. According to a study from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, one in five Rochester residents lacks a credit history. The national average is one in 10 residents who lack a credit history. In a partnership with Credit Builders Alliance, local property owners or landlords can submit on-time rent payments to credit bureaus without penalizing for missed or late payments. The training takes place over six months. Property owners and landlords interested in taking part can find more details here.
