New NYS Program Will Provide 1,000 Nursing Program Scholarships

Written by on November 19, 2021

Yesterday, New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced a new scholarship program titled ‘Nurses For Our Future,’ in plans to cover tuition for 1,000 healthcare workers to become registered nurses through SUNY or CUNY programs. This new program is designed to hopefully aid in the shortage of healthcare workers in hospitals around the state. 1,000 students can enter a SUNY or CUNY nursing program and complete their programs on a flexible schedule under this scholarship.

Governor Hochul stated: “Just one year ago we were celebrating our healthcare workers as the heroes they are, and the pandemic has shown us that we cannot afford a labor shortage in the healthcare industry.”
