New Details Emerge in Sam Nordquist Murder Case: No Evidence of Hate Crime, Charges Filed Against Five Individuals

Investigators have provided updates on the case of 24-year-old Sam Nordquist, whose remains were found recently.

A joint statement from Ontario County prosecutors and New York State Police indicates no evidence that his murder was a hate crime.

It was revealed that Nordquist and his alleged attackers, who are all identified as LGBTQ+, knew each other, and at least one suspect lived with him.

Five individuals face charges of second-degree murder and depraved indifference, which could result in 15 to 20 years in prison if convicted.

Authorities describe the events leading to Nordquist’s death as involving a disturbing pattern of abuse, including torture and sexual assault.
