New Barrier- Free Playground Built in Webster

A barrier- free playground, which was designed so that all kinds of children with disabilities could play freely alongside other children, was opened in Webster this past Wednesday.

The Karpus Family Playground, located at 1000 Ridge Road next to Miracle Field, has been approved by the American Disabilities Act and has full accessibility and sensory integration. It is the first of its kind in Monroe County.

Rodd Riesenberger, director of the Karpus Family Foundation, says, “This is a special playground it’s open for all kids regardless of their ability to swing on swings and slide down slides it’s open for all kids, adults if you want to slide also.”
