NATIONAL MASK MANDATE
Written by Atu on November 10, 2020
Health officials have said face masks help prevent the spread of COVID-19 but, state and local officials have varied widely on implementing mask rules. Now, President-elect Joe Biden plans to change that.
Biden’s office has released plans that his administration intends to implement in the beginning of his term, and one is the national mask mandate. Most states already have some type of mask mandate, but some have no statewide rule. States either present mask wearing as a recommendation or are giving the authority to local officials.
There are many states that have no statewide requirements for masking up. Here are a few – Alaska, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Arizona, Iowa Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Wyoming. In writing this list I have a better idea of why many presidential rallies were filled with so many people not wearing facial coverings.
