Most RCSD Students Will Continue Remote Learning in 2021

Written by on October 30, 2020

There’s no end in sight for Rochester City School District parents and students struggling with remote learning.

Just before the start of the 2020 School Year, RCSD announced that kids would be kept out of the classroom for the first 10 weeks, due to COVID concerns.

On Thursday, Superintendent Meyers-Small announced that in-person classes are cancelled until further notice.

The district says this decision was made with community and teacher input. In a recent survey of union members, eight out of 10 teachers said they want to stay remote.

On January 4th 2021, K-12 students with disabilities will be able to come to school 4 days per week in a hybrid model of learning. Parents still have an option to continue learning remotely.
