Monroe County Faces Fierce Winds, Thousands Without Power
Written by Site Hub on December 12, 2021
Yesterday afternoon, thousands of Monroe County residents were faced with fierce winds throughout the county, where thousands lost power. According to National Grid and RG&E, by 6:40 p.m., nearly 31,000, mainly on the west side of Monroe County, had lost power. Electrical service outages have affected some traffic signals, and residents are reminded to treat all traffic lights that are not working as a 4-way stop.
Governor Kathy Hochul stated early yesterday that resources will be available for those affected by the storm: “The state’s Emergency Operations Center is monitoring the weather and our response agencies stand ready to assist county partners and utility crews as needed.”
