Monroe County Approves $200K Security Upgrade for Ontario Beach Park
Written by DJ Sight on June 11, 2025
The Monroe County Legislature unanimously approved a $200,000 security plan Tuesday to address safety concerns at Ontario Beach Park in Charlotte, following recent violent incidents, including youth fights.
Originally planned for next year, the project was fast-tracked and will include stop-arm gates at the parking lot to manage traffic flow.
Additional measures include increased police patrols, social media monitoring in partnership with the Monroe County Crime Analysis Center, and potential changes to RTS bus schedules on certain holidays.
While the installation timeline remains unclear, officials confirmed the park will stay free to the public.
