Monkeypox Health Emergency Response Expected By Biden Administration

It looks like the U.S. will declare a public health emergency for monkeypox. This will allow the federal government to respond to the monkeypox outbreak by freeing up funding and resources.

There are 6,600 Americans that have been infected with the virus. Monkeypox could cause fever, chills, body aches, fatigue, and pimple-like bumps on the body. The virus spreads through prolonged close skin to skin contact that includes sex, hugging, cuddling, and kissing. Other ways are sharing towels, clothes, and bedding.

The virus can affect anyone.

The Biden administration faced criticism over the response to the outbreak because of a slow pace access to a vaccine.
