Michigan JV Football Player Suffers Spinal Fractures After Violent Hit

A 15-year-old Kalamazoo Central football player, Colton, suffered two spinal fractures after a larger Lakeshore opponent body-slammed him during a JV game.

Caught on video, the hit occurred after a tackle, as the opposing player jumped on Colton while he was down.

Colton was hospitalized and is out for the season.

The incident is under internal review by the schools and Michigan’s athletic association.
