Written by Tariq on November 20, 2024
In light of the recent closure of the Walgreens pharmacy location on West Main Street, near Genesee Street, Mayor Malik Evans has mobilized some of the city’s most dedicated healthcare partners: Rochester Regional Health, University of Rochester Medical Center, Jordan Health Center, and Trillium Health in a united effort to ensure residents continue to have access to essential pharmacy services. All four health systems are actively investing in the City of Rochester. The University of Rochester Medical Center has expanded its footprint by opening the new Highland Pharmacy at Brooks Landing, located near the corner of Genesee Street and Brooks Avenue. This initiative has received strong support from the local community, who see it as a valuable resource for the area. The pharmacy already fills approximately 275 prescriptions daily, offering both delivery and convenient pickup services. The new location aims to enhance access to essential medications and provide personalized service, catering to the needs of residents in the surrounding neighborhoods. The Highland South Wedge Pharmacy at 777 South Clinton Ave. also provides convenient pick-up and free delivery of medications to surrounding neighborhoods. Both walk-in pharmacies serve patients regardless of where they live or receive medical care.
Rochester Regional Health’s St. Mary’s Campus, the city’s longest-running medical facility, continues to demonstrate its dedication to the residents of southwest Rochester. As part of its renewed commitment, representatives have expressed enthusiasm about playing a pivotal role in revitalizing the Bulls Head neighborhood. The facility is poised to be a pillar in the community’s resurgence, supporting both medical needs and broader development efforts, as it has done for generations. Trillium Health proudly offers inclusive pharmacy services, ensuring that everyone, regardless of their ability to pay, receives the care they need. They offer two pharmacy locations in Rochester, at 259 Monroe Avenue and 170 Science Parkway, providing a full range of prescription medications, personalized consultations, and supportive care for the entire community. Jordan Health’s mission for the last 100 years has been to ensure everyone has access to high-quality care regardless of their ability to pay. This mission also includes access to resources including prescribed medications. Jordan Health is proud to open its new pharmacy at 82 Holland Street which continues its century-long reinvestment in the City of Rochester. The goal of opening a new pharmacy is to provide convenience for patients, employees, and the general public to obtain the prescribed medications needed to maintain their health or improve their health outcomes. Whether it’s personalized medication counseling or efficient prescription refills, the upgraded pharmacy is equipped to meet the diverse needs of its patients.
