Maurice “Moe” Jackson, a football coach who said he recently agreed to be terminated after two full seasons as head coach for the Aquinas varsity football team, is now moving into a position with Vertus High School, the school announced on social media Wednesday. Jackson, known for his accolades as both a local high school coach and a Buffalo Bills player, said he agreed to be terminated from the position at Aquinas due to an investigation involving racism and other unresolved issues. He did so after being asked to either resign, part ways mutually, or be terminated. “I elected to be terminated because if I part ways mutually, or if I resign, then the narrative is that I didn’t want to coach, I just left,” he said in a video posted to his Facebook page earlier this month. Vertus High School announced on Wednesday that Jackson would be joining the team as the school’s new Head Football Coach. “We’re excited to have this legendary leader guiding our young men as we continue our mission to develop Men of Character on and off the field. Let’s go Warriors,” the school wrote on Facebook.
