Mask Mandate Lifted? Rochester Businesses Keep Mask Requirement
Written by Site Hub on May 22, 2021
Notice anything different in stores? This past Wednesday, per the announcement of the CDC, Governor Andrew Cuomo lifted the mask mandate for those who are fully vaccinated, meaning they received all required shots and have waited two weeks post final shot. However, despite the mandate, several places are still requiring customers to wear masks.
Places like Parkleigh, the OP Shop, The JCC of Rochester, and The Hideaway, are just a few examples of stores that still have the no mask, no entry policy. Ralph Meranto, associate director at the JCC of Rochester stated; “This is a building that has a fitness center but it also has arts and culture. It also has a child care center which has students who are too young to go maskless because they haven’t had the vaccine yet. We don’t want to make the wrong decision for one that could be the right decision for someone else.”
