Mary J. Blige’s “Real Love” Is Moving From Hit Song To Lifetime TV Film

Mary J. Blige’s “Real Love” is coming to television as a Lifetime original film. The Grammy-award-winning singer has signed on to executive produce the film, named after 1992 hit song.

“My passions for acting and music now include developing diverse stories with music as the backdrop. I am grateful to Lifetime for their partnership in the story of Real Love, “the 51-year-old said in a statement.

The movie will follow lead character Kendra as she embarks on her journey to college in New York. However, her plans to focus solely on school will be derailed when Kendra meets her film class partner Ben. “Real Love” was certified gold in two months and Blige’s first record to hit the top 10.
