Kimberly and Beck have been fired. The Radio 95.1. hosts made racist comments on Tuesday afternoon’s show. Upstate New York iHeart Media Markets Group President Robert Morgan sent out a company-wide email. Morgan said, “We made the decision to terminate Kimberly and Beck yesterday as soon as we learned of their comments and informed them early this morning”. Morgan also stated. “We will not tolerate this kind of behavior, which is antithetical to our core values and beliefs and to our commitment to our community and everyone in it.”
During Tuesday’s show, Kimberly asked, “if the men were acting quote N-wordly.” Beck follows up by saying quote “If you look like a thug, act like a thug and you have three people beating a white woman with a 2 x 4,.by god, you’re a thug.” A show producer said, “You can’t say that.” In less than 12 hours, a number of local politicians called out the racist comments. from Rochester Deputy Mayor James Smith, Monroe County lawmaker Rachel Barnhart, to Candidate for the 138th State Assembly District Alex Yudelson have.
