LL Cool J goes back to his roots in his new album

LL Cool J has returned to his rap roots with The FORCE (Frequencies of Real Creative Energy), his first album in 11 years, released on September 6, 2024. Produced by Q-Tip, the album features collaborations with Nas, Eminem, and Snoop Dogg. It tackles serious themes like social injustice and racism, while also exploring lighter topics such as seduction. LL Cool J, a two-time Grammy winner and Kennedy Center Honoree, discusses the process of relearning and sharpening his skills as a rapper after over a decade away from music. In tracks like “30 Decembers,” he reflects on his observations during the COVID-19 pandemic, when he anonymously traveled through New York City for inspiration. LL Cool J emphasizes that this is not a comeback, but a continuation of his artistic journey.
