The Little Theatre in Rochester, in collaboration with the Rochester Association of Black Journalists, screened the award-winning docu-drama “The Black Walnut” as part of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. The film highlights the impacts of prostate cancer, particularly focusing on the health disparities faced by Black men. After the screening, attendees participated in a panel discussion about the issue. In addition, eventgoers were given the opportunity to sign up for prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood tests, which are used to screen for prostate cancer. The event aimed to raise awareness and provide important health resources for the community.
