Lights on for Life Motorcade Held for Impaired Driving Awareness

Written by on December 6, 2025

Monroe County hosted its annual Lights on for Life Motorcade to mark National Impaired Driving Awareness Month. Organized by the STOP-DWI Program and families of DWI victims, the event aimed to honor victims and raise awareness. STOP-DWI is funded entirely by fines from impaired drivers and reinvests those funds into outreach and education. Despite a slight decline in fatalities in 2024, Monroe County remains one of the highest in New York for DWI-related crashes. Officials urged the public to make safe choices during the holidays and remember: “If you feel different, you drive different.”
