LeBron James is getting the Barbie treatment. The NBA superstar has been unveiled as Mattel’s newest “Kenbassador,” with a $75 collector’s edition Barbie Signature doll modeled after him. The doll drops first on Mattel Creations before becoming available on Amazon and other retailers. The announcement comes during the 45th anniversary of the Black Barbie, first designed by Kitty Black Perkins. James joins a select group of celebrities with Barbie likenesses, including Alicia Keys, Naomi Osaka, and Issa Rae. The doll’s release celebrates Black excellence in pop culture and marks another high-profile moment in the Barbie brand’s evolution.
