Kendrick Lamar surprised fans by releasing a new, untitled five-minute track on Instagram. The post included only the song’s audio and a picture of Nike shoes, with no caption or further details. This unexpected release came just days after Lamar announced that he will headline the Super Bowl LIX halftime show in February 2025, set to take place in New Orleans.
In a statement about the upcoming performance, Lamar emphasized the lasting impact of rap music, saying, “They got the right one.” JAY-Z, whose Roc Nation co-produces the halftime show, praised Lamar as a once-in-a-generation artist with a global influence.
This new track is Lamar’s first release since his hit single “Not Like Us,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in May 2024.
