Written by on March 8, 2022

During last Saturday’s (March 5th) episode, SNL’s Kenan Thompson hit a major milestone by taking part in his 1,500th skit. Thompson first joined SNL almost 20 years ago in 2003 and has never failed to make us laugh. The SNL official Twitter account shared Thompson’s milestone, showing backstage footage of Thompson holding up his hands displaying the number 1 and 5 to signify his 1,500th skit, hilariously thanking the crew trying to hold back tears. In addition to the tweet, Kenan also made a post on his Instagram account to thank those who helped him get to his latest achievement:

Thompson currently holds the title for the longest-standing actor in SNL history. When speaking to Variety on whether or not he’s leaving anytime soon, Thompson stated; “I have a certain number I would love to get to. I think 20 is a good, round, even number that I’m close to. I feel like that is in reach, but also it would be respected if I don’t get there. Like, 18 is fine, 19 is fine. It doesn’t really matter. What matters is, will I have time for my family? There’s only 24 hours in a day.” Check out Thompson’s 1,500 here:
