‘Justice on Trial’ coming to Rochester
Written by Site Hub on September 5, 2024
The off-Broadway play ‘Justice on Trial’ will be coming to Rochester on September 29. Written by Chad Lawson Cooper in 2016, the play addresses systemic racism, justice, and reparations by featuring historical figures such as Harriet Tubman and Emmett Till, who share their stories with a modern-day jury made up of people from different races. The production aims to educate and inspire audiences while tackling serious social justice issues. Local performers, including Rochester-based gospel singer and radio host Michael Bruce, will take part in the play. Despite its heavy themes, the play also includes moments of comic relief. Two performances are scheduled at Temple Theater, one at 3:00 p.m. and another at 6:00 p.m. on September 29. Get tickets here.
