Juror in A$AP Rocky’s Trial: Believed Gun Was Real but Lacked Evidence for Conviction

Following A$AP Rocky’s acquittal on two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, a juror has spoken out, revealing that while the jury believed the rapper had a real gun, there wasn’t enough solid evidence to convict him.
Rocky, born Rakim Mayers, was accused of firing at former friend A$AP Relli during a 2021 altercation in Los Angeles. After a three-week trial, the jury, consisting of seven women and five men, deliberated for three hours before reaching a unanimous not guilty verdict.
An unidentified juror stated that while many jurors doubted Rocky’s claim that the weapon was a prop gun, the prosecution failed to provide the gun as evidence, creating a major gap in the case. Additionally, some witnesses were deemed unreliable, further weakening the prosecution’s argument.
Had he been convicted, Rocky faced a maximum of 24 years in prison. Upon leaving the courtroom, the rapper expressed gratitude, saying, “Thank y’all for saving my life.”
