The injury occurred while driving on a fast break, leading to her being carried off the court. Despite her injury, USC secured a convincing 96-59 victory over Mississippi State, with Kiki Iriafen leading the team with 36 points.
Watkins has emerged as one of the top talents in women’s basketball, averaging 24.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, and notable defensive stats across the season.
Although she won’t be eligible for the upcoming WNBA Draft, she is widely regarded as a potential top pick in future drafts, particularly for the 2025 WNBA Draft scheduled for April 14, 2025.
