Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson Celebrates Supreme Court Confirmation

After the announcement was made towards the end of last week on Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson being confirmed to the Supreme Court, Brown Jack proclaimed the progress of her confirmation and offered her gratitude to the many people who she said helped her along the way at yesterdays event on the White House South Lawn.

Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson stated: “It has taken 232 years and 115 prior appointments for a Black woman to be selected to serve on the Supreme Court of the United States, but we’ve made it! We’ve made it — all of us…I have dedicated my career to public service because I love this country and our Constitution and the rights that make us free…In my family, it took just one generation to go from segregation to the Supreme Court of the United States.”
