On Tuesday, New York held its Democratic Presidential primary and Former Vice President Joe Biden swept the polls, winning against the 10 other candidates that were no longer campaigning.
The Associated Press called the victory 8 minutes after the polls closed.
Biden had already won the democratic nomination and has positioned his campaign to go toe to toe against President Donald Trump in November.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Governor Andrew Cuomo allowed any eligible voter in New York to vote by absentee ballot.
According to the state Board of Elections, this year 1.7 million – 10x the number of people as the 2016 elections – applied for absentee ballots.
